Susan is a qualified, experienced and skilled educator. She has a BEd, an MEd and more than 25 years of experience developing and evaluating learning programs for children and adults. She has taught in schools in Victoria, NT, NSW and ACT and worked in educational administration in executive roles in the NT, SA and the ACT and as a curriculum developer with ACARA. She has worked effectively and productively with key and senior education stakeholders, including Indigenous and political leaders and senior education staff from all states and territories to develop, implement and evaluate education policy.
While she has led large teams of staff and managed multi-million dollar budgets within the public sector to conceive, plan, implement and evaluate broader education policy, strategies and programs, Susan's area of interest is curriculum policy. She has a comprehensive understanding of the Australian Curriculum and the creativity and high level leadership and management skills to design, deliver and evaluate curriculum and assessment initiatives which meet the needs of a range of teachers and students, from the most remote and educationally disadvantaged students in Australia to more educationally advantaged urban students. ng Indigenous and political leaders and senior education staff from all states and territories to develop, implement and evaluate education policy.
